Just ticking the time off until Day 15 now and getting the stitches out and dressing changed. The video update says it all. Full mobility around ankle, can bend smaller toes but never really had much mobility on the big toe beforehand, so still not much movement. Still being careful not to weight-bare but can put my foot down when stationary just to steady me.
Since day 8 my right shoulder has been getting progressively sorer. Very similar to rheumatoid arthritis pain (deep burning pain) which is easily aggravated with crutches and is with me morning, noon and night. Particularly sorer if I sit on the sofa or don't sit upright. Ian & I think its a systemic reaction to the surgery and the immune system trying its best to repair the foot. Throw in the pain relief and heparin and the normal steady state of my body to have no RA symptoms has been thrown right off. Makes sense that as my immune system is heightened that it feels like its having a go at my shoulder. Hopefully it calms down in the coming days and will need to use pain relief until it does.
